X can be any heavy hitter (BH, HM, GR, HWM are all decent choices). Something like Ves/Jes/X/MaA is fairly typical. There's lots of configurations that work fairly well. How the ♥♥♥♥ am I supposed to survive before I get to Vulf and how am I supposed to beat HIM when he's summoning some high damaging ♥♥♥♥♥ to ♥♥♥♥ my ♥♥♥♥ up, while also throwing bombs at my party? AND he gets two actions per round? Who programmed this sadistic ♥♥♥♥? Honestly. I lost two heroes from heart attacks (as they got afflicted despite starting with low stress for the quest), and a third additional one for abandoning the quest. It has appeared for me three times now and this last time was a total ♥♥♥♥ off. I can do fairly well for most champion quests, but I cannot for the life of me survive Wolves at the Door.
